New passenger ships of project REGK.126 "Onega" and "Solvychegodsk" are ready for voyages on northern rivers

The vessels received ice class M‑PR3,0(лед50) and passed sea trials

The construction of two passenger vessels with ice strengthening of project REGK.126 — "Onega" and "Solvychegodsk" has been completed, the Russian Classification Society (RCS) reported. The vessels were built under the technical supervision of the Northern Branch of the RCS, they were assigned class M‑PR3,0(лед50).

A series of vessels of project REGK.126 is being built at the Krasnaya Kuznitsa Shipyard (Arkhangelsk branch of the Zvezdochka Shipbuilding Center USC). A total of four vessels are planned: "Onega", "Solvychegodsk", "Kargopol" and "Kenozerye".

Contracts for their construction were concluded on December 30, 2021, financing is carried out within the framework of the state program "Development of the transport system" and the leasing program of marine and river civil vessels of JSC "USC" with the participation of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia. The first vessel of the Onega series was laid down in June 2022, both vessels went on sea trials in April 2025.

Project REGK.126 was developed taking into account modern requirements for comfort and safety, as well as climatic conditions of the region. The ice strengthening class and engine power allow operating in the waters of Arkhangelsk and Onega, making voyages with broken ice up to 50 cm thick.
