The independent organization Euro NCAP conducted crash tests of the MG S9 crossover. Such a car will soon be sold in Russia under the name "Moskvich M90". The hybrid car received five stars for safety. Experts praised the protection of the driver and passengers.
The crossover was tested in the specification for the European market. The car has an internal combustion engine, an electric motor and a battery with a capacity of 24.7 kilowatt-hours, which allows you to drive up to 120 kilometers on electricity.
The crash test results showed high protection: the safety level of the driver and adult passengers was 84%, children's safety was 85%, pedestrians - 74%, and the operation of electronic systems - 77%. These indicators confirm the receipt of the maximum five stars.
For a frontal impact, the crossover received 11.6 points out of a maximum of 16. For a side impact — 15.9 points out of 19, and for a rear impact — 3.5 out of 4. The integrity of the structure was estimated at 23.3 points out of 36.
"Moskvich M90" based on this crossover has already received certificates of compliance, which are needed to obtain Vehicle Type Approval (OTTS). Its dimensions are known: 4983×1967×1786 millimeters with a wheelbase of 2915 millimeters.
