Контроль над производством автомобилей Aurus перешёл к Газпрому

Deal for 51% stake estimated at 12–13 billion rubles

Gazprom's subsidiary, Gazprom Tech, has acquired a controlling stake (51%) in the Russian luxury car manufacturer Aurus. The deal, according to sources, amounted to approximately 12–13 billion rubles. The purchase included shares previously held by the Arab fund Tawazun and FSUE NAMI, leading to a change in the automaker's top management.

The Aurus project, initiated in 2013 under the name "Cortege," aims to produce cars on a unified modular platform for transporting top officials of the country. The lineup includes the Senat sedan, the Komendant SUV, a limousine, and a minivan. Small-scale production has been underway since 2021 at the site in Yelabuga, while armored versions are assembled in Moscow for state needs.

The change in shareholder and management could accelerate the development of Aurus and ensure cost control, experts believe. In September 2025, Andrey Boginsky, who previously worked at Yakovlev (part of UAC), became the new CEO.

There are plans to expand production at the former Toyota site in St. Petersburg with the release of new Senat models and SUVs.
