Новое ПО «Орнитолог» помогает защищать российские беспилотники «Орлан-10» от атак

Unique domestic system recognizes all types of enemy drones

Russian military personnel have implemented new software to protect drones, capable of recognizing any enemy drones in the air. This was announced by the head of the UAV unit "Orlan-10", Guards Lieutenant Mikhail Kolyaskin, in a video published by the Russian Ministry of Defense.

The program helps keep reconnaissance "birds" in the air. Previously, without it, drones were shot down, and the unit could not prepare for enemy strikes in advance.

Thanks to the new software, operators now know in advance where enemy drones are located. The program is a secret in-house development and received the call sign "Ornithologist" because it can recognize all types of "birds."

The software is integrated with the "Orlan-10" complex, which has already proven its effectiveness in field tests. This drone can stay in the air for up to 18 hours, reach speeds from 75 to 170 km/h, climb to a height of up to 5 km, and perform missions at a distance of up to 120 km from the control station. In combination with artillery, the "Orlan-10" corrects fire, ensuring the accuracy of strikes and supporting offensive operations.

The reconnaissance data collected by drones in real time helps artillerymen quickly refine priorities and make decisions on the battlefield, the Russian Ministry of Defense noted.
