Licensed production of fifth-generation Su-57 multirole fighter jets is planned to be launched in India, according to the Russian Ambassador to New Delhi, Denis Alipov.
According to him, this should accelerate the implementation of the Indian AMCA program to create its own fifth-generation fighters.
Russia hopes to open a new chapter in these strategic relations by expanding technology transfer to India, including through licensed production of fifth-generation Su-57 fighter jets. This will accelerate the implementation of the Indian program to create fifth-generation AMCA fighters.
The diplomat added that Russia's contribution to Indian industry is not limited to defense technology. He recalled that Russia signed a memorandum on licensed production of SJ-100 regional passenger aircraft.
Under this program, India will be able to produce aircraft to meet the growing needs for air travel within the country, as well as become a regional center for maintenance, repair, and overhaul of SJ-100 aircraft.
Prior to this, Alipov noted that Russia officially offered India to purchase fifth-generation Su-57 aircraft at "favorable prices."
Earlier, www1.ru reported that the manufacturer of Su-57 fighter jets put unique equipment into operation.
