Russia will return to projects for creating passenger supersonic aircraft; the country already has experience in this area. This confidence was expressed by Deputy Prime Minister Vitaly Savelyev.
He recalled that the domestic industry is currently engaged in creating fully import-substituted aircraft — the SJ-100 with PD-8 engines and the MC-21 with PD-14 engines.
I am sure that we will return to supersonic aircraft projects. We had such aircraft, the Tu-144, our domestic aircraft, 16 machines were designed, flying Moscow - Almaty in the Soviet Union. I think we will return to these topics.
Andrey Dutov, General Director of the National Research Center "Zhukovsky Institute," noted that the center is already working on a supersonic civil aircraft project, which will be a unique technological breakthrough for the country.
