Passenger supersonic aircraft to be built in Russia — government confirms

The Cabinet recalled the existence of the Soviet development — Tu-144

Russia will return to projects to create passenger supersonic aircraft, the country already has experience in this area. This confidence was expressed by Deputy Prime Minister Vitaly Savelyev.

He recalled that the domestic industry is currently busy creating fully import-substituted airliners — SJ-100 with PD-8 engines and MS-21 with PD-14 engines

I am sure that we will return to supersonic aircraft projects. We had such aircraft, the Tu-144, our domestic aircraft, 16 aircraft were designed, flew Moscow - Almaty in the Soviet Union. I think we will return to these topics.
