Новый гальванический цех откроют на кировском заводе «Маяк»

This is the first major upgrade of the machine park in recent decades

The Kirov plant "Mayak" (part of the Kalashnikov arms concern) is preparing a new electroplating shop for commissioning. This is the first major facility built at the enterprise in recent decades, the concern's press service reported.

New electroplating shop at the "Mayak" plant
On the first floor of the shop, the factory workers are consistently connecting electroplating lines: anodizing, phosphating, nickel plating. More than a hundred people are working simultaneously at the facility.

According to the plan, the installation of electroplating lines will be completed in the first half of November. At the same time, the installation of engineering equipment is underway, including water supply, heating and electricity systems.

Workers are also installing ventilation equipment. The air exchange system is critical for the enterprise, since all processes take place in conditions of high humidity, with the release of chemical vapors and gases.

After the completion of commissioning works, the shop will be ready for operation. The production site is scheduled to be commissioned at the end of November.

About the "Mayak" plant

"Mayak" appeared on the basis of a cartridge factory built during the Great Patriotic War. It produced machine-gun links and belts, drive chains for aerodynamic and gas rudders for Soviet ballistic missiles.

Since the 1970s, the plant has been developing and producing special products for the needs of the USSR Ministry of Defense. Now "Mayak" produces civilian and military products, including remote control of the 9M113 "Konkurs-M" ATGM.
