The Veles auto plant has announced the launch of production of trucks under the new Uraman brand. This was announced by the governor of the region, Alexey Russkikh.
The implementation of the project is another contribution to the development of the Ulyanovsk region's economy and a new step towards strengthening cooperation with China. The Veles auto plant became a resident of the port zone in 2025.
The project is being implemented in partnership with a Chinese company that has already opened an enterprise in the city of Tacheng for the production of vehicle kits for large-unit assembly of chassis. At the first stage, the cars will be assembled from components of Chinese production, but in the future, it is planned to gradually localize the production of trucks and specialized equipment in Russia.
According to Veles, the plant's capacity will allow it to produce up to 2,000 vehicles per year. The model line will feature 35 different chassis options (onboard and dump truck versions, garbage trucks and truck cranes, universal platforms for installing various equipment).
Earlier www1.ru reported that the Uraman brand debuted with all-wheel drive models.
