Flight tests of the regional passenger aircraft Il-114-300 have begun in the Altai Republic at the Gorno-Altaysk airport. The tests allow checking the operation of the aircraft in various modes, including flights in mountainous terrain and international routes.
The Il-114-300 was developed by ПАО «Ил», which is part of the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) of Rostec. The project is funded under the CPGА of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia.
One of the experienced aircraft has already completed a series of international flights with an intermediate landing at the «Krainiy» airport in Baikonur. The purpose of such flights is to assess operational manufacturability at transit airfields and test navigation systems on complex routes.
The aircraft is in the final stage of certification tests. We are checking navigation modes, assessing operation on international lines and at non-base airfields. The tests are proceeding successfully, and the aircraft will soon return to base to complete the program.
For the tests, Gorno-Altaysk airport provided specialized parking lots, organized ground and airfield services, including refueling, power supply and aviation security. Premises were also prepared for the accommodation of flight and engineering personnel.
