Russian Soldiers Show Off T-72B3 Tank in Unusual Configuration

The metal sarcophagus allows the vehicle and its occupants to remain invulnerable to drone attacks

Footage of a Russian T-72B3 battle tank in an unusual configuration with anti-drone protection in the form of a metal sarcophagus has been published online. The entire area of the tank is equipped with protection, which allows it to remain invulnerable to possible drone attacks.

The sarcophagus consists of many metal plates connected at an angle to maximize the reflection and dispersion of the blast wave from the explosion. Grids are also visible, which protect against cumulative munitions attacking head-on.

In addition, a combat landing party can be accommodated under the metal cap of the tank. This mobile shelter allows soldiers to quickly and safely reach key points on the battlefield, maintaining combat effectiveness to complete their missions.

The unusual design certainly makes the tank heavier, but, apparently, the priority is the survival of the crew in modern warfare, where drones have become a serious threat.

T-72B3 is a Russian main battle tank of the T-72 family. Developed as a mass and economical alternative to the main T-90A tank.

Earlier, www1.ru reported that the Russian Aerospace Forces tested new air bombs with UMPC for a range of 150 km.
