The media reported that the production of new Russian business jets based on the Tu-324 aircraft is planned to be launched in the Ulyanovsk Port Special Economic Zone (PSEZ). It has now become known that the promising aircraft will receive domestic PD-8 engines designed for import-substituted SJ-100 "Superjets" and Be-200 amphibians.
The nuances of the new product are kept secret, but according to information from industry sources, we are talking about the revival of 18-seat aircraft for VIP transportation — an adapted version of the Tu-324, developed in the late 1990s.
The volume of investments is estimated at tens of billions of rubles; in fact, the enterprise will be built "from scratch."
Aurus-Aero, associated with Gazprom TEH and the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC, part of Rostec), already has experience in the premium aviation segment — it previously presented a version of the Mi-171A3 helicopter in the Aurus style.
According to information from the Russian government, the start of serial deliveries of PD-8 aircraft engines is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2025. Six power plants have already been delivered for flight tests of experimental SJ-100s.
Earlier www1.ru reported that Russian tires for the chassis of MS-21 and SJ-100 aircraft have successfully passed certification.
