The new MC-21 aircraft manufactured by the Irkutsk Aviation Plant (part of the United Aircraft Corporation of Rostec) arrived at Pulkovo Airport in St. Petersburg. In frames on the Web, you can see that the aircraft has already been painted in the livery of the "Rossiya" airline.
Apparently, this particular MC-21, although not a serial assembly, is preparing to go on regular flights.
The MC-21 import substitution project is developing successfully. In April 2025, the first prototype with Russian avionics took off, and in October the plant in Irkutsk had already assembled 14 machines.
Recall that the airline "Rossiya" will be the first operator of the aircraft and intends to use only MC-21 in the future. Meanwhile, test pilots' reviews of the MC-21 have appeared.
They enthusiastically talked about the incredible handling of the aircraft and revealed a veil of secrecy about the tests of onboard systems in the most severe conditions.
