The Altai Tire Plant (ASHK) sent new tires for the main landing gear of MC-21 and Superjet aircraft to China for testing. All checks were successfully passed on the first try, the company's press service said.
ASHK clarified that in the fall of 2024, the nose landing gear tires successfully passed bench tests, and in the winter and spring of 2025, the main landing gear tires did as well.
When the testing process is completed, the Altai tires will be assigned a serial letter, which will pave the way for their serial production in 2026. The entire future fleet of these modern aircraft will be equipped with Altai tires.
Andrey Patrakov, founder of the flight safety and certification service RunAvia.ru, noted that the Altai Tire Plant project fits into a comprehensive program for the development of civil aviation. According to this strategy, 270 MC-21-300 aircraft will be produced by 2030.
The amount of investment in the creation of an aircraft tire production line for a domestic aircraft may amount to 3 to 4.5 billion rubles, according to Anastasia Vladimirova, managing partner of IPM Consulting.
The head of the Altai Territory, Viktor Tomenko, stated a few days ago that ASHKsuccessfully certified new tires for airliners.
Earlierwww1.ru reported thatMC-21-310 with PD-14 engines and SJ-100 with PD-8 will be certified in 2026.
