In the first six months of 2025, Ural Airlines reduced its passenger traffic by 7% compared to the same period in 2024, to 3.9 million people.
According to the company's report, the reason was difficulties in maintaining the airworthiness of Airbus A320neo aircraft.
The company's report for the first half of the year notes that factors affecting the aviation industry also affected Ural Airlines. As a result, this led to a decrease in operating performance.
Ural Airlines' traffic on domestic routes decreased by 16%, and to and from the CIS countries by 6%. However, on foreign destinations outside the CIS, there is a passenger traffic growth of 47%. The passenger seat occupancy rate decreased by 1% compared to the same period in 2024.
Ural Airlines operates 51 modern Airbus aircraft under operating leases. The fleet includes 22 Airbus A320s, 14 Airbus A321s, four Airbus A319s, eight Airbus A321neos, and three Airbus A320neos.
Ural Airlines has expressed interest in acquiring MC-21 medium-range aircraft. However, the airline has not yet signed contracts for the supply of MC-21, because there is no clear understanding of the aircraft's flight performance characteristics.
The MC-21 aircraft was certified in 2021, and the aircraft is undergoing an import substitution process. Now the manufacturer, Yakovlev, promises to start deliveries in 2026.
Earlier www1.ru reported that Il-114-300 will increase resource and reliability thanks to new developments.
