The new Project 22350 frigates of the Russian Navy (VMF) will become an effective means of protecting water areas. The warships are capable of becoming effective means of defense, according to Peter Suciu, a columnist for The National Interest (TNI).
The fifth Project 22350 frigate, "Admiral Amelko," was launched on August 14. The ship, which is called the "sea terminator," will be the first representative of the series capable of carrying up to 32 cruise missiles.
This newest frigate is one of the first on which the number of cells of the 3S14 universal shipborne firing complex has doubled, which, in fact, turned the frigates into floating missile trucks.
The frigate "Admiral Amelko" received a ballistic complex for destroying submarines. The ship is equipped with 24 cells of universal shipborne firing complexes (UKSK), designed for hypersonic anti-ship missiles 3M22 "Zircon" with a flight range of 400 to 1.5 thousand km.
