The United Aircraft Corporation (UAC, part of Rostec) has patented a new wide-body long-range aircraft. Images of the prototype have appeared online.
The basic version of the new aircraft has a capacity of 281 passengers, with extended and shortened versions for 320 and 240 seats respectively also planned.
The closest aircraft to the development is the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, but the domestic development has advantages in operating costs.
In terms of operating costs per seat-kilometer, the new aircraft has an 11-13% advantage over the В787-9 in direct operating costs and 15-17% in direct operating expenses.
The head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade estimated the timeframe for creating a wide-body aircraft to be beyond 2030.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that production of systems for Il-114-300 and MS-21-310 has been expanded in Nizhny Novgorod.
