The new version of the Russian Il-76MD-90A aircraft has attracted many foreign buyers, according to the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC, part of Rostec).
The export version of the aircraft performed well at international exhibitions in Dubai and Saudi Arabia and aroused great interest among foreign partners.
The corporation noted that the Il-76MD-90A is an aircraft of "a hundred professions" that can do everything: transport heavy cargo, extinguish fires, work as a flying hospital, and even train astronauts.
The aircraft was created in the Design Bureau of the legendary aircraft designer Sergei Ilyushin by his follower, designer Heinrich Novozhilov.
The Ulyanovsk Aviation Plant will increase the production of the latest Il-76MD-90A to 12 units per year. The head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Anton Alikhanov, noted that due to the interest of foreign countries, the production of the aircraft needs to be tripled within 3.5 years.
