The first train of the new "Baltiets-2" model arrived on August 20 at the Oktyabrsky Electric Car Repair Plant in St. Petersburg. The rolling stock is intended for operation on the Moskovsko-Petrogradskaya line of the metro.
The final assembly of the train will begin on September 1. The company's specialists will perform a complex of electrical installation works, install door systems and conduct the necessary tests.
The new train differs from the previous model with an improved ventilation system, as well as quieter and smoother doors. The exterior and interior of the cars are designed in a blue and purple color scheme, corresponding to the color of the Moskovsko-Petrogradskaya line.
By the end of 2031, it is planned to supply 950 modern cars for the St. Petersburg metro. The developer of the "Baltiets-2" model is Metrovagonmash, which is part of the TMH engineering holding.
