Fraudsters have come up with a new scheme to deceive Russians, operating in two stages and using calls from alleged employees of Roskomnadzor. This is reported by RIA Novosti.
First, victims receive calls on behalf of a bouquet delivery service and are required to provide a code from an SMS to allegedly verify order data with the courier. After the victim provides the code, the call is interrupted by a message, supposedly from Roskomnadzor, warning of insecurity.
Then, the fraudsters call the "victim" again, already posing as employees of the delivery service, and offer to help restore access to the "Gosuslugi" portal and cancel the microloan application. At this time, four-digit codes from alleged microfinance organizations arrive on the victim's phone, which the fraudsters demand to be named in order to convince them of illegal actions. In fact, these codes are access to the "Gosuslugi" account, and the fraudsters are trying to seize them.
Roskomnadzor has officially warned that its employees do not call citizens, do not send links, and do not request personal data.
