Russian aircraft manufacturers delivered only 1 of 15 planned commercial aircraft in 2025, Reuters reports, citing aviation information provider ch-aviation.
According to the source, investments are constrained by high interest rates, and production is hampered by restrictions on the purchase of foreign components.
There is no component base, no production capacity, no technology, no engineers. It will take years, if not decades, to create all this from scratch.
For comparison, in 2021, Russia added 52 new commercial aircraft to its fleet, including 27 Airbus aircraft, three Boeing aircraft, and 22 Sukhoi Superjet aircraft assembled from imported components for the airlines Aeroflot, S7, Red Wings, Rossiya, and Ural Airlines.
Since then, 13 new aircraft have been delivered - 12 Superjets and one Tu-214.
Earlier,www1.ru reported that Rostec was instructed to reduce the cost of the MC-21 and SJ-100, advantages over Boeing and Airbus are needed.
