Russia Develops "Motiv" Individual Homing Munitions with Elements from "Tornado-S" Projectiles

"Motiv" is equipped with infrared sensors to search for targets by thermal radiation

The Russian military has used innovative "Motiv" individual homing munitions, known as "arrows of death," according to military expert Vladislav Shurygin.

According to him, the combat elements of "Motiv" are equipped with infrared sensors that allow them to home in on targets with a thermal signature and penetrate armor more than 10 cm thick.

Shurygin said that the elements of "Motiv" are part of the cluster munitions of the "Smerch", "Tornado-S" rocket systems, as well as the PBK-500 gliding bombs and the RBK-500 cluster bombs.

"Smerch" and "Tornado-S" are formidable weapons in themselves. And now long-range rocket systems have also received "smart" individual homing combat elements.
