The Research and Development Department of Strength at PJSC Yakovlev is responsible for the structural integrity of the new SJ-100 "Superjet" aircraft. It employs a total of 48 people, including one Doctor of Science and two Candidates of Technical Sciences.
Specialists conduct dynamic and static calculations, ensuring the strength of the standard design of the aircraft and its components during design, production, testing, and certification.
Engineers ensure the structural integrity during long-term operation by performing calculations for survivability and fatigue, and maintain compliance of the aircraft with airworthiness requirements.
They perform calculations to determine external loads acting on the structural elements of the airframe, calculations to determine fatigue loads, and also analyze the results of flight tests and monitor the loading of the "Superjet" fleet.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that the MS-21 aircraft flew for the first time to test navigation systems as a regular aircraft.
