Ships of the Pacific Fleet at the Russian Navy's "July Storm" exercises launched a joint cruise missile strike on targets in the Sea of Japan, simulating enemy ships. This was reported by the fleet's press service.
The missile cruiser "Varyag" (Project 1164 "Atlant") launched a "Vulcan" anti-ship cruise missile. A group of strike boats consisting of R-18 and R-20 attacked targets with "Moskit" cruise missiles.
The combat crew of the "Bastion" coastal missile system, which marched to a positional area on the coast of Primorsky Krai, struck a sea target position with an "Onyx" cruise missile.
The area where the missile firings were conducted was closed to civilian ships and aviation flights.
The "July Storm" maneuvers will last until July 27. They involve more than 150 warships and support vessels.
