The latest "Whirlwind-1" missiles transferred by the Kalashnikov concern (part of Rostec) to the Russian Ministry of Defense will facilitate the work of Russian helicopter pilots. This was announced by military expert, Captain of the first rank of the reserve Vasily Dandykin.
According to him, "Whirlwind-1" is a modernized missile for helicopters, which is controlled and allows hitting enemy targets, primarily armored ones, at a long distance day and night.
That is, it is already associated with accumulated experience. The tactical and technical characteristics of the products are increasing. This will facilitate the work of our helicopter pilots.
Ka-52M "Alligator" helicopters began destroying enemy drones with "Whirlwinds", effectively turning into fighters.
