By the law of "Darwin": A unique interception system was developed in Russia

During the tests, the complex eliminated a UAV at a speed of 260 km/h

Specialists of the company "Mechanical Protection Systems" (MPS) have developed a new drone interception system "Darwin" using a net measuring four by five meters.

The essence of "Darwin" lies in its unique design, resembling a spider web. The net is not static and can dynamically stretch, absorbing the kinetic energy of a flying projectile.

During tests at the airfield, a three-kilogram "Arkhangel" drone, programmed to hit a mock target, crashed into the deployed net at a speed of 260 km/h.

The net bent under the impact like an elastic shield, stretched, then the three-kilogram drone bounced back and crashed to the ground. The net tore in two places, but withstood the attack.

"Darwin" is a simple and inexpensive solution for protecting industrial facilities. The cost of the net ranges from 300 to 500 rubles per square meter, and it is mainly ordered by large companies with state participation to protect data processing centers (DPCs).

Earlier www1.ru reported that a foreign country wanted to purchase the latest S-500 Prometheus air defense systems.
