The situation in air traffic on July 5-6 will result in serious financial losses for airlines, which may reach 20 billion rubles.

Costs solely due to flight cancellations in the first 24 hours of the large-scale disruption at three major airports range from 4 to 6 billion rubles.

The Ministry of Transport reports that on July 5, more than 250 flights were canceled and over 270 flights were delayed at Sheremetyevo, Pulkovo, and Strigino airports. As of 18:00 on July 6, the situation remained critical. Sheremetyevo canceled 171 flights, Pulkovo - 90, and Strigino - 26. Passenger associations are demanding the creation of clear regulations for handling emergency situations, and experts emphasize the need to provide accommodation and meals for passengers at the expense of airlines.

Losses from canceling a Boeing 737-800 flight can range from 15 to 23 million rubles, depending on the destination. This amount includes expenses for airport services, crew work, and fuel, as well as lost revenue.

The volume of additional costs for airlines due to schedule disruptions across the country may reach 20 billion rubles. Indirect losses associated with passengers missing connecting flights and losses of related services may amount to several tens of billions of rubles.
