Attackers continue to target small and medium-sized businesses. They disguise malware as well-known programs such as Zoom, Word, and ChatGPT. This was reported by the Department for Combating Illegal Use of Information and Communication Technologies of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs.

According to Kaspersky Lab, attackers continue to target small and medium-sized businesses, disguising malware, phishing, and fraudulent schemes as legitimate services.

Top 4 categories of software frequently used for counterfeiting:

1. Video conferencing (Zoom, Microsoft Teams).
2. Office suites (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
3. AI tools (ChatGPT, DeepSeek).
4. Cloud services (Google Drive).

Zoom leads among threats, accounting for 40% of cases in the first four months of 2025. The reasons include widespread use in small and medium-sized businesses for negotiations; ease of interface forgery (recognizable design); access to important resources: microphones, cameras, corporate conversations.

To ensure security, experts advise installing programs only from official websites, checking the digital signatures of installer files, and using reliable antivirus programs.

According to Sber's assessment, Russian companies' losses from DDoS attacks in 2025 have at least tripled. The number of cyberattacks has decreased slightly compared to last year. However, their complexity and effectiveness have increased significantly. There have been more malicious actions, which has negatively affected business and the work of companies.
