The Oktyabrsky Electric Car Repair Plant (OEVRZ) has completed the assembly of the first 81-726.2 Baltiets-2 metro train. The new train is being sent to the Avtovo electric depot, where it will be tested for the operability of all systems and equipment in conditions simulating real operation.
The assembly of the first Baltiets-2 train began in April this year. The train will begin running on the Frunzensko-Primorskaya line at the end of 2025.
The new Baltiets-2 model will differ from the first Baltiets trains, which began to enter the city's metro in 2022, with a modified color scheme and a number of updates to the design. The changes include the modernization of drives and door control units, controls, connecting elements, as well as the replacement of shoe brakes and the element base of traction inverter components. In addition, minor changes are expected in the interior of the cars.
Earlier www1.ru reported that the new generation Baltiets trains will run on the "blue" line of the St. Petersburg Metro.
