Russia has the technical capability to resume production of Tu-95MS "Bear" strategic bomber-missile carriers. This was pointed out by Deputy Andrei Gurulev.
He clarified that there are aircraft of Soviet production that are "irretrievably gone." But there are others that can be revived and modernized.
We no longer produce the Tu-95 bomber. That is, we don't produce it at all. Although, in principle, we can. At the Samara Aviation Plant, where it used to be produced, the 95th can be spun up if desired. And SNTK named after Kuznetsov will supply the NK-12 engine, and it will all go. And if you install all the modern avionics and other systems, also modern, the machine will play completely differently.
Tu-95 (NATO classification: Bear) is a family of strategic bomber-missile carriers. It was mass-produced until 1992 at the Tagantrog Machine-Building Plant named after G.M. Dimitrov and Aviation Plant No. 18 in Kuibyshev (now Aviakor, Samara).
Earlier, www1.ru reported that Uralvagonzavod announced an all-Russian vote for a new name for the BMPT Terminator.
