The overhaul of Unit 4 at the Leningrad Nuclear Power Plant (LNPP) has been completed ahead of schedule, according to the press service of Rosenergoatom Concern (the electric power division of Rosatom).
Work on the RBMK-1000 unit was completed almost 12 days ahead of schedule. The overhaul involved about 1,400 specialists from the Leningrad NPP and Lenatomenergoremont.
During the overhaul, in-reactor inspection, a major overhaul of generator No. 7, and an intermediate overhaul of generator No. 8 were carried out. Additionally, a set of works was performed to extend the unit's life until 2030.
The Leningrad NPP provides more than 50% of the consumption of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region. There are four power units with a total capacity of 4,287 MW operating at the plant.
In February 2025, LNPP received a license from Rostekhnadzor for the use of Unit 3 until 2030.
