The International Aviation and Space Salon (MAKS), which was expected to be held in the summer of 2025, is likely to be canceled again.
According to a source, as in 2024, the organizers will hold an online project eMAKS: exhibition and demonstration programs will be presented on the air show website.
The cancellation is primarily due to security considerations, one of the sources noted. In addition, flagship projects of the civil aviation industry, such as the МС-21 and SJ-100, which could be demonstrated at MAKS, are expected only in 2026.
MAKS has historically been held every two years at the airfield of the LII named after Gromov in Zhukovsky near Moscow. It was first held in 1993, and last held in 2021 (from July 20 to 25). The MAKS planned for 2023 was postponed to 2024, then sources in a number of media outlets explained this decision by security considerations. But MAKS did not take place in 2024 either.
