No dynamo needed: the power system of the Russian Orbital Station will surpass the power sources of the ISS

President of the Russian Academy of Sciences: system efficiency is orders of magnitude higher

The President of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS), Gennady Krasnikov, revealed details of the power system of the Russian Orbital Station (ROS) being developed in an interview. According to him, the station will receive high-efficiency solar panels, the power of which will be orders of magnitude higher than that of analogues on the International Space Station (ISS).

The ROS project is, of course, much more profitable. This is not only a new orbit, which is very important from the point of view of (studying) radiation. But there are also other energy opportunities. There will be almost several orders of magnitude more power than today on the ISS. These will be high-efficiency solar panels.

The first module of the station is already in a high degree of readiness, as the head of Roscosmos, Dmitry Bakanov, reported earlier. This means that the transition from the ISS to the national orbital platform may occur in the coming years.
