The day before, Uralvagonzavod sent the Russian military another batch of modernized T-72B3M and T-90M tanks of the 2024 model. Military expert Evgeny Damantsev pointed out the shortcomings in the protection system of combat vehicles.
The analyst noted that the T-72B3M, in addition to the "stock" anti-cumulative-anti-drone "visors", received anti-cumulative-anti-drone "burdock leaves" for the rear projection of the turret.
Unfortunately, despite all the field tests, batches of vehicles are still not equipped with modernized KAZ "Arena-M".
The "Arena-M" includes a radar station (RLS) with high noise immunity, an onboard computer, and special ammunition installed in the shafts around the perimeter of the tank turret.
The radar detects an enemy projectile, anti-tank missile, or grenade aimed at the tank, calculates their trajectory, and fires a protective munition that destroys the target in flight with a beam of damaging elements.
"Arena-M" provides tanks and crews with many times higher protection against enemy hand-held anti-tank weapons, including AT4, CS, HP grenade launchers, as well as the NLAW short-range anti-tank missile system (ATGM).
Earlier, www1.ru reported that the Ministry of Defense demanded to recover almost a million rubles from Voentorg in a new lawsuit.
