Recently, there have been increasing cases of fraud where attackers call Russians from unknown numbers and report the need to replace the intercom in the entrance. This was reported by law enforcement agencies.
To receive a free set of keys, victims are asked to name the code from the SMS message that arrives on their mobile phone during a conversation with fraudsters. The code must be named within a day, otherwise the set of keys will be unavailable.
After Russians tell the fraudsters the code, they gain access to their accounts on the "Gosuslugi" portal. Next, the attackers introduce themselves to the victims as employees of Roskomnadzor and Rosfinmonitoring and report that powers of attorney have been issued in their name to unknown persons. To save their funds, users allegedly need to urgently transfer money to a safe account.
Most often, the victims are elderly people, law enforcement agencies noted.
Earlier, Russians were warned that fraudsters had begun to carry out new schemes with "foreign cards" via Telegram.
