The Yak-40D aircraft in VIP configuration (RA-87494) is once again available to charter clients after a four-month hiatus due to maintenance.
During a major scheduled maintenance at the Tulpar Technic production facilities in Kazan, with the assistance of the A.S. Yakovlev Design Bureau and the Minsk Civil Aviation Plant N407, specialists repaired the airframe and modern systems that ensure flight safety.
The aircraft belongs to the company "Solntse" and is included in the operator's certificate of JSC "Vologda Aviation Enterprise". Among clients and brokers, the Yak-40 received the unofficial call sign "Black Lightning", directly related to the unique livery of the aircraft. The layout of the Yak-40D VIP interior includes two comfortable lounges separated by a partition.
The first VIP lounge for 5 passengers includes a work area for the main passenger and a three-seater sofa, while the second business class lounge for 8 seats features a club with a large table and chairs for accompanying persons.
The aircraft is comparable in cabin space to the Challenger 300 and Falcon 900: ceiling height is 1.85m, width is 2.15m (more than the Legacy 650), and length is about 7m. The Yak-40D is equipped with a media system with Wi-Fi connectivity. In addition, the aircraft is equipped with two Apple tablets.
