Crews of the TOS-2 "Tosochka" heavy flamethrower system have begun using deeply improved 220-mm TBS-3M reactive thermobaric projectiles. The range of the ammunition is up to 15 km.
The increased range was achieved thanks to a higher-impulse fuel charge and a slightly lighter thermobaric warhead.
The vehicle is equipped with an integrated automatic fire control system, a thermal imaging sight with a ballistic computer, and a laser rangefinder for working on targets within the optical horizon.
The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation first showed the TOS-2 "Tosochka" flamethrower from the inside. With one volley, the system clears six hectares of territory, burning everything alive at a temperature of 2000 degrees.
