Авиадвигатели ПД-8 и ПД-14 оказались более прожорливыми, чем зарубежные аналоги

However, the issue of consumption is not so acute due to domestic fuel prices

Modern Russian aircraft engines PD-8 and PD-14 consume more fuel than foreign counterparts. This was stated by a former pilot, French aviation expert Cyril de Lattre.

ПД-14
Modern Russian aircraft are equipped with PD-8 and PD-14 engines, which consume more fuel than their foreign counterparts, such as Rolls-Royce. In Russia, oil is cheaper than in most countries, so the issue of consumption is not so acute.

On Monday, March 17, the first flight with domestic PD-8 engines was made by the "Superjet". Also, UEC will soon test a fully import-substituted "Superjet".

It is known that PD-14 weighs 2,870 kg and has a thrust of 14 thousand kgf in take-off mode. The engine can provide a flight range of up to 5.1 thousand kilometers, but in the future it may grow to 7 thousand kilometers. The specific fuel consumption in cruise mode (kg/kgf · h), according to the developers, is 10–15% better than that of analogues from other manufacturers, but the specific fuel consumption figure is not specified.

Earlier www1.ru reported that Rostec has developed a unique landing system for light aviation.
