Modern Russian aircraft engines PD-8 and PD-14 consume more fuel than foreign counterparts. This was stated by a former pilot, French aviation expert Cyril de Lattre.

The engine can provide a flight range of up to 5.1 thousand kilometers, but in the future it may grow to 7 thousand kilometers. The specific fuel consumption in cruise mode (kg/kgf · h), according to the developers, is 10–15% better than that of analogues from other manufacturers, but the specific fuel consumption figure is not specified.
