MC-21 Production

The IAZ technical re-equipment project has been included in the register of investment projects of the regional center. The decision was made at a meeting of the commission on investment activities under the city administration. The project is scheduled for implementation until 2030.

The main goal is to master the serial production of the MC-21 with the aim of producing 36 aircraft per year by 2027, as well as carrying out major repairs and modernization of military aircraft within the established timeframes and with the required quality.

At the current stage of modernization, IAZ is awaiting the relocation of department 320 and workshop 232 to a new building. The total area of the three-story building for these units is 12,811 m². Of these, the production area is 8,173 m², and the area of office and auxiliary premises is 4,638 m². The new building is equipped with climate control systems, fire safety systems, and modern equipment.

The MC-21 is a domestic project for a short- to medium-range passenger aircraft that should replace the Tu-154 and the Tu-204 family in the Russian market. It can also be an alternative to foreign-made aircraft.
