JSC "Satellite system "Gonet", which is part of Roscosmos, plans to expand its communication capabilities to ensure the safety of unmanned and manned aircraft flights. In the future, this will affect the entire territory of the Siberian Federal District, said Andrey Manoylo, General Director of the company.
Manoylo and Denis Melikov, General Director of the Scientific and Production Center for Unmanned Aviation Systems of the Tomsk Region, concluded an agreement that provides for the development of an integrated approach to ensuring the safety of both unmanned and manned aircraft.
According to Manoylo, to solve these issues, the focused activity of a separate specialist is needed, which will probably be implemented in the form of an open information system for unmanned aerial vehicles.
As part of the agreement, we have created a permanent working group with colleagues from the SPC UAS of the Tomsk Region, aimed at solving the problems of creating such an information environment. After testing the technology in the Tomsk Region, we plan to offer it for further use throughout the Siberian Federal District.
Under the signed agreement, "Gonet" will provide services for all unmanned and manned aviation, on which satellite equipment will be installed at the Scientific and Production Center for Unmanned Aviation Systems of the Tomsk Region.
Earlier, the company "Gonet" developed a special device for transmitting data from orbit to an unmanned aerial vehicle. The tiny modem has successfully passed all the necessary tests and received certificates. It is planned to start its mass production in the near future.
