The Central Bank of Russia intends to strengthen control in the field of auto lending if financial institutions continue to impose "expensive but useless" services on customers. This was stated by the head of the Bank of Russia, Elvira Nabiullina.
Many banks have agreed to revise their approaches, and nine organizations have signed a special memorandum. However, according to Nabiullina, the situation in car dealerships has not changed dramatically.
Unfortunately, the imposition of expensive but useless services for people continues, which are considered rendered at the time of sale, that is, they cannot be returned
She called on market leaders to join the memorandum and "put things in order," otherwise the Central Bank will be forced to move to tougher regulatory measures.
