Russian engineers have begun developing new types of dynamic protection (ERA) for domestic tanks. This was reported in the press service of Uralvagonzavod (part of Rostec).
Modern tanks use "Relikt" ERA, which is among the most advanced in terms of effectiveness.
ERA uses the principle of a directed explosion of an explosive charge on a projectile hitting the vehicle to reduce its penetration capability and the damage it causes. "Relikt", which is equipped on T-72B3 and T-90M tanks, is distinguished by its high maintainability, which is achieved through its modular design.
The use of a new explosive composition made it possible to increase the efficiency and reliability of the dynamic protection complex against armor-piercing fin-stabilized discarding sabot projectiles, including low-speed ones, against which outdated protection could work unstably.
Earlier www1.ru reported that carriers of "Caliber" and "Uran" corvettes " резкий" and "Aldar Tsydenzhapov" conducted maneuvers off the coast of Indonesia.
