The crew of the small anti-submarine ship (MPK) "Kabardino-Balkaria" of Project 133.1 practiced searching for a submarine in the marine training ground of the Baltic Fleet. This was reported by the press service of the Russian Ministry of Defense.
The corvette's crew carried out a set of measures to classify and track an underwater target using the ship's sonar station. After that, the detected submarine was conditionally destroyed using torpedo weapons and rocket launchers.
Also during the exercise, "Kabardino-Balkaria" practiced tasks of sailing in narrow waters, and various intra-ship exercises and training sessions were conducted.
Ships of Project 133.1 are designed to search, track and destroy submarines in the coastal and near sea zone. Military vessels are armed with AK-176 and AK-630 anti-aircraft artillery systems, RBU-6000 rocket launchers and 533-mm torpedo tubes, as well as modern sonar systems.
Earlier www1.ru reported that the "Caliber" and "Uran" carriers, the corvettes "Reskiy" and "Aldar Tsydenzhapov", maneuvered off the coast of Indonesia.
