KMZ Designs Kasatka-BP Boom Deployment Boat

The boats will be built for ice-class Arc4 supply vessels of Project 22430

Specialists of SKB-1 (part of the military-industrial holding company "Kingisepp Machine-Building Plant", KMZ) have started designing the Kasatka-BP boom deployment boat. These boats will be equipped on supply vessels of ice class Arc4 Project 22430, the holding's press service reported.

The Kasatka-BP is designed for 8 people. The boat is intended for the deployment of boom barriers during the localization and elimination of oil and oil product spills.

Architectural and structural type — a closed single-hull, single-deck vessel with a central wheelhouse, a bow cabin, an aft engine compartment, and a fender bar.

The Kasatka-BP will be launched from the mother ship using a special single-point quick release device mounted on a power mast.

About Project 22430

Project 22430 was developed by JSC "Central Design Bureau "Lazurit". It is a shallow-draft ice-class Arc4 supply vessel.

  • Width — 16 m
  • Deadweight — 1600 t
