Kamikaze drone intercepted with shrapnel from a Kalashnikov MR-155 semi-automatic rifle in video

After a direct hit, the drone crashed to the ground and exploded

A video of the destruction of a kamikaze drone using shrapnel bullets from a 12-gauge MR-155 semi-automatic shotgun produced by the Kalashnikov concern has gone viral on the Web. The footage shows how a fighter destroyed the drone, it lost altitude and exploded from the impact on the ground.

The rifle is equipped with a barrel with an 89 mm chamber, providing the ability to use almost any 12-gauge ammunition, including those developed specifically to defeat low-flying drones of any purpose.

With a standard extension, the rifle's magazine holds six 12/89 cartridges (+1 in the chamber). An adjustable-length folding stock with an AK-12 assault rifle pistol grip, familiar to gun enthusiasts from the experimental MR-155 "Tactics" model, is attached to the MR-155 receiver in the anti-drone version.

MR-155 Characteristics:

  • Type — semi-automatic gas-operated
  • Caliber — 12
  • Chamber — 76 mm
  • Barrel length — 750 mm
