AvtoVAZ is considering resuming car exports to Vietnam in 2025. According to local media reports, the first dealerships of the brand may open in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City as early as May. The range will include Granta, Vesta, Niva Legend and Niva Travel models.
Niva Legend can compete with compact frame SUVs such as Suzuki Jimny, and Granta and Vesta sedans can compete with popular Japanese models in the region. Currently, the best-selling car in the country is Mitsubishi Xpander.
Lada deliveries to Vietnam were carried out from the 1980s, but stopped in the mid-1990s due to a decrease in demand. Individual copies of "Zhiguli" and "Niva" are still found on local roads. The return of the brand is associated with a growing interest in budget cars adapted to difficult conditions.
Earlier www1.ru reported that AvtoVAZ will present Lada Iskra in all body types and Lada Niva with a 160-horsepower engine.
