Russia will start building its own turn-key fish processing plants — a factory that will produce equipment for them will appear in the Novoorlovskaya SEZ.
Pavel Zubkov, General Director of Marine Integrated Systems LLC (MKS), spoke about this in an interview with Korabel.ru.
Fish processing equipment will always be needed. Firstly, because there are still many unfinished "fishermen" from the first wave of the "Quotas for Keel" program, and secondly, because there will be vessels from the second wave, which also require equipment. Finally, there are many old fishing boats in Russia that require serious renovation. Also, fishing equipment is operated almost around the clock, which causes it to wear out quickly. It will definitely need to be replaced.
According to Zubkov, it took a year and a half to prepare the necessary documents and pass the examinations, and the company will receive a building permit for the plant in the near future. MKS has already received a subsidy of 1.93 billion rubles from the Ministry of Industry and Trade for the implementation of six projects to launch mass production for fishing vessels. These are:
- refrigeration equipment kits for the development of RSW tanks (tanks with chilled sea water for transporting live crab);
- ship compressor-condenser units of hold refrigeration machines;
- ship fishmeal plants;
- ship equipment for fish factories and crab factories;
- elevators for lowering and lifting fish products;
- sets of ship waste shredders.
As part of the subsidy, MKS has developed 250 different products and manufactured their prototypes. Equipment is already being purchased for the future plant, which will produce equipment for fishing vessels, and more than 600 million rubles have been spent on it.
By the end of 2025, MKS plans to build a plant and organize a test center with a well-established technological chain. This center will show industrialists how the equipment will work at sea.
MKS already has experience in the production of fishing equipment. It currently produces shredders, elevators, a number of elements of fish factories, sheathing panels, furniture and deck equipment. Before being sent to the customer, all equipment undergoes the necessary tests on special stands.
As Zubkov noted in an interview, MKS already has orders from Russian fish producers until 2030.
