Low Liquidity: Hamster Kombat Game Token Removed from Crypto Exchanges

Crypto exchange Bybit is the first to exclude the HMSTR/EUR spot pair from the listing

One of the world's major crypto exchanges, Bybit, is delisting the HMSTR/EUR spot pair associated with the popular 2024 Telegram clicker game called Hamster Kombat.

The reason for the decision is the low liquidity of the HMSTR token. In six months, the coin has collapsed by more than 60%: from $0.01 to $0.001588.

Representatives of the crypto exchange noted that "the decision was made in accordance with the delisting protocol, which aims to ensure the best trading conditions and protect traders from sharp price volatility".

The spot pair will be delisted from 11:00 Moscow time on January 24. After this time, all pending orders will be automatically deleted. HMSTR/USDT and HMSTR/USDC spot pairs will remain listed for now.

HMSTR deposits and withdrawals, as well as their processing on the crypto exchange, will continue as normal.

Hamster Kombat

Hamster Kombat is a clicker game in the Telegram messenger where you had to "pump" a hamster character. It became one of the major events of 2024 in the crypto world, capturing not only Russia and the CIS countries, but also countries in Europe and Asia. At the peak of the project, in August, 300 million people around the world were "tapping the hamster" and earning coins.

The game's popularity was actively exploited by scammers. Using a number of schemes, they massively stole Telegram accounts, money from cards, and crypto wallets of players.

The listing of the game currency began at the end of September 2024, when the imminent start of the second season of the hamster's adventures in the big city was announced. However, after the listing, most of the players left the mini-application: the conversion of game millions into tokens was not as profitable as expected. The cost of HMSTR at the start of trading was only $0.01.

As of January 19, 2025, the Hamster Kombat bot in Telegram has just over 16 million active users.
