Reliable Drone Umbrella: Newest "Sphere" UAV Suppression System Developed in Russia

The new system is capable of covering an area of several square kilometers

A new complex for detecting and suppressing unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) called "Sphere" has been developed and tested in Russia. The complex has been successfully tested at mass urban events.

Comprehensive zonal radar protection against drones was developed at the Chelyabinsk Radio Plant "Polet" (part of the AIS holding of the Rostec State Corporation). The new product is capable of covering an area of several square kilometers.

The complex is designed for radio-electronic reconnaissance (RER). The algorithm of action is as follows: we determine the control and video signal channels from drones, after which the system automatically or manually activates electronic warfare, that is, detection and suppression of UAV control channels. There is no radar station in the system, but if desired, it can be synchronized with any product.

"Sphere" has also confirmed its effectiveness on the line of combat contact. The equipment installed on the vehicle neutralized more than 10 enemy combat drones.

Earlier www1.ru reported that the innovative fiber optic drone "Knyaz Vandal" will be produced under franchise in various regions of Russia.
