Russia's First Digital Shipyard to Open in January 2025

Unique Facility Being Launched for Shipbuilders in Karelia

The first stage of Russia's first digital shipyard is being prepared for launch in Petrozavodsk at the Onega Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Plant. The launch ceremony will take place on January 15 and will be attended by the Assistant to the President of Russia, Chairman of the Maritime Board of the Russian Federation, Nikolai Patrushev.

The digital shipyard will help develop automated digital production, managed by intelligent systems in real time. Most production processes — design, engineering, assembly, management and accounting — will be automated. This will help speed up production, reduce project costs and minimize possible errors by employees during shipbuilding and ship repair.

It is also known that a domestic information system for digital shipyards has already been developed in St. Petersburg. The Onega Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Plant will also become a pilot site for its implementation.
