The issue of supplying Project 22220 icebreakers with helicopter pads is already being resolved

The Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations will continue to create aviation units in the Arctic zone and the Northern Sea Route. This was announced in an interview with RIA Novosti by the head of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, Alexander Kurenkov.

In the Arctic zone and the waters of the Northern Sea Route, the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations is gradually creating aviation units: last year - in Murmansk, this year - in Arkhangelsk, duty is organized in Pevek. We also plan to create aviation units in the villages of Sabetta, Dikson, Tiksi and the city of Anadyr. This will allow us to respond urgently to emergencies and incidents. In the next three years, we plan to supply 9 more helicopters to the Arctic.

Kurenkov added that now EMERCOM specialists are cooperating with manufacturers of marine and air vessels to make it possible for rescue helicopters to land on Project 22220 icebreakers. This measure will "solve many issues in the elimination of emergencies: refueling of aircraft, their temporary basing".

Earlier it became known that Russian drones began to control oil spills on the Northern Sea Route. The first group of specialists from the Morspassluzhba - two UAV operator rescuers with three drones and a cargo of dispersant to eliminate the consequences of the disaster - began to serve on the nuclear icebreaker Ural. It belongs to the Project 22220 vessels mentioned by the head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
